Its action is centrifugal-from within outward-having an elective affinity for the skin, where it produces heat and burning, with itching; made worse by heat of bed. Inertia and relaxation of fiber; hence feebleness of tone characterizes its symptoms. Ebullitions of heat, dislike of water, dry and hard hair and skin, red orifices, sinking feeling at stomach about 11 am, and cat-nap sleep; always indicate Sulphur homeopathically. Standing

Very forgetful. Difficult thinking. Delusions; thinks rags beautiful things-that he is immensely wealthy. Busy all the time. Childish peevishness in grown people. Irritable. Affections vitiated; very selfish, no regard for others. Religious melancholy. Averse to business; loafs-too lazy to arouse himself. Imagining giving wrong things to people, causing their death. Sulphur subjects are nearly always irritable, depressed, thin and weak, even with good appetite.

Adapted to persons of a scrofulous diathesis, subject to venous congestion; especially of portal system. Persons of nervous temperament, quick motioned, quick tempered, plethoric, skin excessively sensitive to atmospheric changes (Hep., Kali- c., Psor.). For lean, stoop-shouldered persons who walk and sit stooping; walk stooping like old men. Children: Cannot bear to be washed or bathed (in cold water, Ant-c.); emaciated, big-bellied; restless, hot, kick off the clothes at night (Hep., Sanic.); have worms, but the best selected remedy fails. Dirty, filthy people, prone to skin affections (Psor.). Aversion to being washed; always < after a bath. When carefully selected remedies fail to produce a favorable effect, especially in acute diseases, it frequently serves to rouse the reactive powers of the system; clears up the case (in chronic disease, Psor.). Complaints that are continually relapsing (menses, leucorrhea, etc.); patient seems to get almost well when the disease returns again and again. Standing is the worst position for Sulphur patients; they cannot stand; every standing position is uncomfortable. Scrofulous, psoric, chronic diseases that result from suppressed emotions (Caust., Psor.). Congestion to single parts; eyes, nose, chest, abdomen, ovaries, arms, legs, or any organ of the body marking the onset of tumors or malignant growths, especially at climacteric. Sensation of burning: On vertex; and smarting in eyes; in face, without redness; of vesicles in mouth; and dryness of throat, first right then left; in stomach; in rectum; in anus, and itching piles, and scalding urine; like fire in ripples (Ars.); in chest, rising to face; of skin of whole body, with hot flushes; in spots, between scapulae (Phos.). Hypochondriasis after suppression of eruption. Dread of being washed (in children). Heat on crown of head ; cold feet ; frequent flushing. Brain affections in children who do not like to be washed, have flimples, boils and other eruptions on head, face and everywhere, pick at nose, have red lips, crave sour things, feel faini in forenoon, may have diarrhoea early in morning ; sleep restless, start when falling asleep, cry out during sleep, or murmur, whine, moan or snore ; feet cold in morning, hot in evening ; they run about but do not like to stand, sit hunched and walk stooping. Severe itching on forehead and scalp. Itching pimples on forehead ; inflamed, painful to touch. Inflamed and suppurating pimples on hairy scalp. Humid, offensive eruption on top of head, filled with pus, drying up into honey-like scabs. Dry, offensive, easily bleeding, burning eruption, begins on back of head and behind ears ; pains and cracks ; > from scratching. Humid, offensive eruption, with thick pus, yellow crusts, bleeding and burning. Dimness of vision ; as of a veil or gauze before eyes ; as from a fog ; with headache ; as if cornea had lost its transparency ; sudden paroxysms of nyctalopia ; while reading ; objects seem more distant ; for near and distant objects ; with weakness of eyes, blindness, cataract, glaucoma ; with innumerable, confused, dark spots floating before eyes. Untidy—unkempt. Coarse, lustreless hair, which takes its own rebellious way, like its owner ; not amenable to conventions. Famished before meals : famished at n a.m. Eats anything. Craves fat. (Sulphur is the only warm drug that craves fat.) Intolerant of clothing—of flannel on the skin. Morning diarrhoea ; but, after that, safe for the rest of the day. One curious aspect of the Sulphur mentality is the admiration for what is not admirable. Rags may seem beautiful. Ecstacies over things in which normal persons can see nothing to admire. Sulphur exists in every tissue of the body : there is nothing that Sulphur cannot help, in a Sulphur patient. It is the greatest of polycrests. Again, elderly women with flushes. Throw off the bedclothes. Starving at n a.m. Put their burning soles out at night to cool. (Cham., Med., Puls., and one or two others do this also.) Again,—Warm, hungry babies. Kick off the bedclothes— impossible to keep them covered at night. Very obstreperous hair—(?) sandy—harsh and lustreless— grows every way. Dirty-nosed children : sore discharging nostrils. (Aur.) Orifices brilliant red ; anus, nostrils, eyelids, lips. Itching at anus. Nash says, “ Every true homoeopath knows the value of these and many more symptoms of this remedy. No one else appreciates them. Again, none but those who use potentized Sulphur can ever know what it is capable of curing."

Constant heat on top of head (Cup sulph; Graph). Heaviness and fullness, pressure in temples. Beating headache; worse, stooping, and with vertigo. Sick headache recurring periodically. Tinea capitis, dry form. Scalp dry, falling of hair; worse, washing. Itching; scratching causes burning.
